Terms and Conditions

Cancellation Policy:

Guests who cancel as a result of the Coronavirus, will be able to change their dates for any cancellations up to 48 hours before arrival. Normal terms and conditions apply thereafter.

  • No cancellations or changes to bookings for December/January school holidays after 1 September.
  • Full payment for December/January school holidays is required by 1 September.
  • Exchanges for cancelled bookings are allowed under certain conditions. Terms and Conditions apply.
  • Late arrivals or early departures will not be refunded.
  • No shows will not be allowed an exchange.
  • All cancellations must be in writing
  • No changes that reduce the number of people or the number of nights can be made for a booking for December school holidays after 1 September. Should you cancel any payments will be kept for future visit/s.
  • Exchanges for cancelled bookings are allowed under certain conditions. Terms and Conditions apply.
  • Late arrivals or early departures will not be refunded.
  • We reserve the right to cancel any bookings at any time which are reduced in numbers or in days. If Bonnievale River Lodge cancels a booking all payments made in respect of your booking will be returned to you. Terms and Conditions apply.
  • Bookings cancelled 30+ days in advance will be refunded 50% of their deposit or can choose to bank 90% of the deposit.
  • Guests who cancel 14 days or more prior to the arrival date may bank 80% of the payment for a future booking. 
  • For cancellations less than 7 days before arrival all outstanding payments on the booking must be made prior to booking the new dates.
  • If the booking is for less days/people that originally booked there will not be a refund. 
  • If the booking is for more days or people or the rate has increased, any additional amounts will be due in full when doing the new booking.
  • Booking.com bookings get a 30 day free cancellation period unless they are made on a non special offer which has no free cancellation facility.

General Terms and Conditions:

  • If you wish to make use of your booking at another time, we allow you to change your dates to another date in the future (12 months). Terms and Conditions apply.
  • Making the new booking is subject to availability.
  • Long weekends and school holidays are excluded unless booked 48hrs in advance and are subject to availability. Weekends during the period December – March cannot be booked more than 48 hours in advance.
  • Bookings may only be cancelled once. Guests who cancel for the second time will lose all monies paid.
  • Banked monies are not transferable to other bookings or people.
  • If the rate has increased since the original booking was made the new rate will be applied and the difference will be due on arrival.
  • Cancellations for the December/January school holidays that are made less than 14 days before the arrival date will not be entitled to an exchange and full payment will be forfeited.
  • Visitors of guests will not be allowed during December/January school holidays or on long weekends or on any other weekend where we are too full to accommodate them.
  • Bookings must be confirmed with a deposit payment in order to be guaranteed.
  • Deposits can be paid by eft or by credit card.
  • Full payment must be received within the time specified for full payment.All bookings for long weekends, festival weekends, weekends from November to March must be paid in full 14 days before arrival.
  • Bookings for groups of 2 or more families must be paid 30 days before arrival.
  • All bookings for December / January school holidays must be paid in full by 1 September.
  • Bookings for December holidays that are made after 1 September must be paid in full 30 days before arrival.
  • Bookings for the December/January school holidays may not be reduced by days or number of guests after 1 September.
  • Please note that In cases where the balance is not paid after repeated requests for payment have been sent to the guest, the booking may be cancelled to enable us to recover the cost of the loss of income.
  • Any payments that have been made towards the booking will be kept for another visit in the future, terms and conditions apply.
  • We reserve the right to cancel any booking where payment has not been made within the time specified in order for us fill the site and recover any potentially lost revenue.
  • Guests who have paid in full will receive priority check in.
  • In cases where the booking is not fully paid and it has not been cancelled, payment is required to be made in cash to avoid check in delays. Guest/s will need to wait to be processed before being shown their site/accommodation. Other guests who have paid in full will be given priority over guests who have not paid in full.

In addition:

  • Early departures and late arrivals will not be eligible for refunds.
  • Individual members of the group who do not arrive and we have not received notification of this fact within 7 days of arrival will be eligible for the full amount of the booking.
  • Bookings that are changed to a shorter period of time will be liable for the full amount of the original booking. We reserve the right to cancel these bookings.
  • Rebooking fee of 10% of the cancelled booking will be applied.
  • Refunds will be made within 30days of cancellation.
  • Peak periods are any long weekend, December/January and Easter school holidays and festival weekends.

Terms and Conditions using a banked booking exchange:

  • The booking must be made within 12 months from the date of cancellation.
  • Bookings are subject to availability and can be made from May to September or mid week at any time of the year except during peak period.
  • In certain circumstances, bookings can be made at other times during the year as long as the booking is not made more than 48 hours before the arrival date.
  • An admin charge of 20% of the previous cancelled booking will be levied to the new booking.
  • Bookings may only be cancelled once. Guests who cancel for the second time will lose all monies paid.
  • Payments made for banked bookings for camping cannot be transferred to accommodation and payments made for accommodation cannot be transferred to camp sites
  • If the rate has increased since the original booking was made the new rate will be applied and the difference will be due at the time of booking.
  • Early departures and late arrivals will not be eligible for refunds.
  • Bookings that are changed to a shorter period of time will be liable for the full amount of the original booking.
  • Peak periods are any long weekend, festival weekend, December/January and Easter school holidays.
  • Cancellations for the December/January school holidays that are made less than 14 days before the arrival date will not be entitled to an exchange and full payment will be forfeited.

Pet Policy

The rate is R50/night for camping and R75/night for dogs in the accommodation. Dogs are allowed to stay as long as they meet the following criteria:

1. The dog has been booked in advance and the owner of the dog has completed this form. Bring the form when you check in. Dogs can be paid for on arrival.
2. We have a maximum number of dogs that are allowed at any time as well as a limit on breed types and dogs/site. Do not arrive with a dog that has not been booked in as you may not be able to keep the dog on the premises.
3. **Dogs must be under control at all times and not be allowed to roam unchecked around the camp site.**
4. *Dogs cannot be left alone in units or on the camp site**
5. Barkers and yappers are not welcome.
6. We have donkeys, chickens and ducks so dogs are a potential threat to our animals. They need to be kept on a lead at all times.
7. Not all of our guests are dog lovers. Please be considerate.
8. No large dogs! No pitbulls, boxers, staffies, bull terriers, rottweilers, alsations, dobermans or any other potentially dangerous breed or cross breeds of the above.
9. Guests with dogs in the accommodation will be required to pay a deposit of R500 which will be refunded in week after departure. The accommodation will be inspected after the stay and photographs of any damage or dirt will be sent to the dog owner.
Dogs that are allowed to sit on furniture and sleep in beds are not allowed!
10. No dogs in the ablutions or kitchen.
11. Please clean up after your dog.
12. Any dog which behaves in an anti-social manner and the owners do not ensure that it adheres to the points above will be banned with immediate effect.
